Now, you are ready to look for your perfect home (there isn’t such a thing, but you can get close). Try to figure out what area you want to live in, do you want new or old, how many bedrooms and where do you want them. A young couple will want a different room arrangement than those with teenagers. (No, there are not any homes in Wichita with detached housing for teenagers). If you have no clue what you are going to what, let your Realtor show you several different types of homes so that you can some feel what is where and how much it costs. That should help.

Probably, the first homes you see will not feel quite right. Both you and your Realtor are narrowing down what is important to you. Your Realtor will be looking every day and even more often to find you that right home. Most Realtor’s will set up an automated search that will send you new homes as they come on the market. This search is designed especially for you.

People analyze all of the pros and cons of home. I have even had clients that used a weighted excel spread sheet to figure out the homes that they looked at. However, when it comes right down to it, buying a home is an emotional decision. If the home is close to what you want and looks good to you, it is the one most people will make an offer on.
